The first game of the season for the RI1 team ended up with a great 5-0 away win.
It was started with a solid 3-0 performance for James who played against a lad who was having his first taste of team squash but seemed to really enjoy it. Richard was playing next and he won 3-1 with one gaming involving a classic Richard comeback where I think he might have been at 13-7 down to win.
I played after James and got a tight 3-2 victory. The next game was Michael vs Simon which was the battle of the big hitters and Michael won that 3-1 and even gave a couple of generous lets.
The final game was 19 years in the making as George re-entered team squash for the first time in almost 2 decades. It was a pleasure to watch as George played some classic squash with high focus to beat Dave (a Pocklington first team player) comfortably 3-0.
We went for the usual curry afterwards where James got mistaken as a waiter at the curry house because of his white shirt and good customer banter. As is always the case it was good fun chatting to the pock lads and a great evening. Thanks to Ian for coming to support as well!!
