A fantastic 5-0 win for York RI squash team to further secure our second place in Divison 5 of the York & District Squash League. Solid 3-0 wins for John, Richard, Jess and Chris.
However, match of the day was Mick’s 3-1 win, playing at Number One, in an exciting and high quality match v Attilla, a former York RI player. Having gone one game down, Mick played some excellent squash against his opponent who ran after every ball, and even slid along the floor several times in a dramatic effort to maintain the rallies. Luckily Attilla was wearing knee pads and eldow pads so was able to slide along the floor without serious injury. An unusual style!
Howver, Mick dug in, played superbly and even managed a couple of well timed drop shots to win Man of the Match and secure the sweeping victory for York RI.
