Scarborough 3 vs York RI

This was a disappointing result in the big top of the table clash with Scarborough coming out on top 3-2.

It started off with road closures meaning getting to the club involved a detour. That meant that Ian played first as he was (amazingly) the only one ready to play at the start. Although looking tired towards the end he held on on for a good victory against Scott.

Richard played the usual solid game and even though having a potential tweak of his back got a 3-1 victory.

Myself and Chris both struggled and lost 3-0. I think both of us probably didn’t have the right tactics for our opponents and then for me the lack of decent drop-shot was a real gap.

Michael playing at number one was geared up for a victory to bring it home for the RI but injury meant that didn’t happen. The injury seems just a muscle strain.

The bar area of the club is nice and has a decent atmosphere with good food. It’s a long journey back from Scarborough having lost though! We will get our revenge in the home fixture

  1. Ian’s match deserves another mention, showing some great skill in a very hard fought and skillful 3-1 victory, earning Ian his frist official Man of The Match for this season, albeit Ian has been so close to claiming this accolade most weeks. And our team are still in the Title Race, securing an impressive second place in a strong league this season. Richard, RI Squash Team Captain
