Another fabulous win for our first team. Following James’ debut winning match for RI 1 against Pocklington, unfortunately he came up against a promising youth squash talent, who was subbed into the 5th spot for Wigginton 6. Despite a hard fought effort from James and taking the third game, the skill of the 12 year old squash prodigy proved too much and we lost the opening match 3-1.
The rest of our matches went more smoothly, with each of Richard, John, Mick and then George playing at the number one spot, winning their matches 3-0, thus securing another impressive 18 league points. The fish & chips were lovely and our hosts at Wigginton were great.
This leaves the Division 4 table looking very interesting, with the top 3 teams now having each won their opening three mathces. York 6 lead the way on 57 points, then Scarbrough 3 on 56 points with RI 1 close on their heels with 54 points. Interesting that none of the top three teams meet until 18th November when the top two teams play. Our next match for RI 1 is against the promising youth team of Wigginton 7 on 4th November.
